The Mother She Deserves

The words don't always come. That's the hardest part. I know what I want to say and I reach for it and sometimes it's just not there. So I learned to say it in other ways.

Through every rep of physical therapy, every session with my speech therapist, and every doctor's visit, I thought about the mother she deserves, and it pushed me a little harder.

Knoxly Rose is why I fight. She will know what happened. She will know her mama fought.
